Dev Diary 25/2024: Two Major Parts Finished

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just completed two major components for the upcoming Manage Your Own Network feature set: ad management and scheduling! These will be the heart of network management in the game. 🤗

Next Time on Endless Studio…

Since our last Dev Diary, we’ve wrapped up two big tasks for the 2024.4 release:

• New Ad Sales Office: A new room where you can manage ad contracts for your networks, with easy-to-use filters and sorting options. Each week, you’ll receive new contract offers based on your network’s level. You get to decide which ones to accept and make money from, but once you sign, you’ll either need to fulfill the contract or face a penalty. Contracts will set a due date, a minimum viewership, and sometimes a preferred genre. You can air each ad multiple times alongside your shows to meet the required views.
• Scheduling Office Additions: This room is the control center for your network’s schedule, where you can manage show programming and ad placements. You’ll be able to tap on unscheduled time slots (or create them for streaming) and pick a show’s season from a list of available ones. You can even remove scheduled seasons, as long as they haven’t started airing. For streaming networks, you can choose whether to release all episodes at once or drop them weekly. On broadcast and cable networks, you’ll also be able to schedule or remove ads from signed contracts, either one by one or in bulk.
